The recent SGA (Student Government Association) meeting held Nov. 11 in the Nursing and Health Sciences Center offered the opportunity to hear student voices and allow them to better understand average student needs. Topics focused on the cost of campus food prices, a lack of student spaces, and a lack of events for full-time students.
The event was a good chance for Flo Valley students to share their ideas about the campus. Students can attend these events and bring them to the attention of the Student Government. When students don’t voice their concerns, nothing happens.
Making concerns known doesn't guarantee any major changes, but it does give you a chance for things to change on campus for the better. Even though this event has already passed, it's not too late to share your feelings and opinions with the campus leaders. Talking to people within the administration is a great way to make the school aware of anything that could be on the minds of students.
At the end of the day, the well-being of the students is every school's concern, and the staff and faculty at STLCC-FV want to help. Regardless of whether it's something big or small, campus resources can help with classwork, home life, and many other topics that might be on the minds of students. Take these opportunities to speak out because you can’t get help or guidance if no one knows you need it. Stay tuned for information about the next SGA meeting.
