Welcome back to another semester at STLCC Flo Valley. There are some big changes coming to campus, and we at the Forum wanted everyone to be in the know about what's what and where changes will take place.
Art students at STLCC-FV had the opportunity to showcase their work during Portfolio Day Sept. 22 in the AC Building on campus. Dozens of students participated in the event to share their art with a variety of representatives from area colleges and universities, as well as from New York, Chicago, Kansas City, and Savannah.
This past summer, newly elected Missouri Governor, Mike Kehoe, set legal precedent, further limiting citizens' access to public records in the state of Missouri. Among more than several bills signed into law on July 16th was House Bill 145, which established that agencies who receive public records requests can make advance payment mandatory for all tasks related to fulfilling the request

And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...” Bryona Scott Hutson, this year’s student speaker for the graduating class of the Deaf Communication Studies, Interpreter Program, quoted Dr. Seuss’s Oh The Places You’ll Go to begin her speech.
Duha Shreiteh's recent solo show titled "Diary of an Entertainment Artist" was featured at the Florissant Valley Contemporary Gallery.
The Voyageur literary magazine launch party of was held Thursday, Sept. 18 on the front patio of the IRL (Library). Students and contributors were invited to read from their work while enjoying lunch and sunshine.
Citizens for Modern Transit is hosting the 2025 edition of the College Transit Challenge on Thursday, October 2nd. Students, faculty and staff can register for the challenge at CollegeTransitChallenge.com. Those who register have the opportunity to get a free “Public Transit” t-shirt and College Transit Challenge sticker (while supplies last).
Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ might not be so beautiful. This Bill is a budgeting bill. It was designed to cut Medicaid cost, cut taxes on Social Security income, increase state and local tax deductions, food benefit cuts like SNAP, increase defense and border spending, no taxes on over time or tips and other foundations like that, and clean energy incentives reduction.
