It is with an Unnecessary Force that Todd, the Scottish Clan’s Highland Hitman, killed it.
Unnecessary Farce, a comedy by Paul Slade Smith and directed by Marie McCool, is about two unprepared cops who set up a sting to catch a suspect of embezzling $16 million. The set of two extremely cheap, dirty, connecting motel rooms looked very realistic in the recently renovated Terry M. Fischer Theatre on the STLCC-FV campus.
The actors did a good job of making something difficult look easy. This production also had a Deaf actor and his interpreter in a role that was not orig inally written as such. McCool commented that she received special permission from the playwright to take on such a choice. A choice that paid off and brought a unique and unforgettable element to the production.
The show was a pants-dropping, bagpipe-playing, Tallahassee Flip of a good time.
Stay tuned for more information about next semester’s upcoming shows.
