It’s Not the Destination, it’s the Journey 

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...” Bryona Scott Hutson, this year’s student speaker for the graduating class of the Deaf Communication Studies, Interpreter Program, quoted Dr. Seuss’s Oh The Places You’ll Go to begin her speech.

The graduates from the Deaf Communication Studies Interpreter Program recently had their pinning ceremony. This pin marks them as interpreters of American Sign Language for the Deaf Community. 

This year, the graduating class added a meme to their pinning photo in the slideshow, showing their personality to the audience. The signed presen tation was given by Mark Jodlowski. He gave his own spin to Miley Cyrus’s The Climb. The message is that it’s not the destination, it’s the journey. It doesn’t matter how long it takes or what the goal is, it’s the journey itself that tells you more about yourself.
