Freshman Nicholas Acklin won first place in the Flo Valley's Got Talent show held March 12, sponsored by the Mass Communications Club. Acklin, shown here during auditions, is a communications major.
On Thursday March 12, 2026, a long-awaited event finally took place. The Mass Media Club hosted its first Flo Valley’s Got Talent show. The club has been wanting to put this event on for months.
Brenon Hatton emceed the event. This event was judged by Mass Media Club’s Faculty advisor Mariah Richardson, Paul Huddleston, and student graphic designer Amariya Childress. Amariya Childress also designed the poster for this event.
Prizes were given for the top 3 performances.
The top 3 winners were:
1. Nicholas Acklin
2. Lavon Banks
3. Craig Brooks
I do congratulate all who participated and had the opportunity, not to mention courage, to showcase their talent. Hopefully the event next year will be just as good.
