Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ might not be so beautiful.
This Bill is a budgeting bill. It was designed to cut Medicaid cost, cut taxes on Social Security income, increase state and local tax deductions, food benefit cuts like SNAP, increase defense and border spending, no taxes on overtime or tips and other foundations like that, and clean energy incentives reduction.
One of the things it didn’t approve of was the funds needed for CCAMPIS, Child Care Access Means Parents in Schools. CCAMPIS is a program for young parents who want to continue their college education.
What can the Student who is a Parent do now to help continue their college journey?
Students can apply and may qualify for state subsidy. Even though these qualifications are different than CCAMPIS. CCAMPIS only requires Pell eligibility. Students can reach out to united4children. United4children.org can be contacted by phone (866-583-2392) or their website.
