British space-rock band Muse kicked off their Wow Signal tour July 5 at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in Maryland Heights. The tour is promoting their newest album The Wow Signal. Muse consists of lead singer, guitarist, and keyboardist Matt Bellamy, bassist Chris Wolstenholme, and drummer Dominic Howard.  

Throughout the show I can say I was absolutely blown away by their stage presence, how well they played their instruments, and how great of a performance it was. I was also impressed by their new light production and laser showcase as well. The band opened the show with their new song “Hexagons.” Not long after that they went on to play some of their classic heavy riffing songs like “Hysteria” from their 3rd album, “Absolution,” and “Supermassive Black Hole” from their 4th album “Black Holes and Revelations.” 

Some of my personal highlights from the show included songs like “Cryogen,” “Be With You,” “Plug in Baby,” and “Nightshift Superstar” just to name a few. Joining Muse on this tour are openers The Temper Trap from Melbourne, Australia, and The Bloc Party from London, England, who did not disappoint as well, delivering two amazing and unique 30-minute sets before Muse performed. Overall, Muse delivered an amazing concert for their fans and surprisingly their newest fan as well. I would highly recommend listening to Muse or checking them out in concert next time they are in St. Louis. Their current tour continues through the year in the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and the UK, and Netherlands.
